The Classic Car Loan Project continues to go from strength to strength. The project now includes 24 varied cars from private owners, clubs and sponsors which are to be enjoyed and maintained by our young enthusiasts.
The project began under the direction of Bob Wilkinson but growth dictates a need for a larger organisational team to ensure the most professional delivery to all involved. Bob will continue to direct the project and is now assisted by Rachel Cook and George Turner who will be initially taking responsibility for the website and social media accounts.
They are part of the success story of the Classic Car Loan Project, initially joining in 2019 with the loan of the 1954 Ford Popular and 1960 Vauxhall Victor respectively. They have attended shows and acted as ambassadors for the project and wish to continue in helping the project grow into the future.
“I still have energy, enthusiasm and at least one active brain cell,” explained Bob! “Rachel and George bring their experience of being part of the project as well as a new energy to add to the team approach in carrying the project forward.”
“The Classic Car Loan Project has given my family and I such a wonderful experience and I am very much delighted to be a part of the project going into the future,” George remarks, “I would encourage anyone with an interest in classic cars to get involved.”
A few words from Rachel: “I’m a novice when it comes to classics but have always been inspired by my dad’s fondness for old Fords, and my uncle’s Morrises. Now I’m hoping I can help to spread the word far and wide about the brilliant project. By day I run a design business so that’ll come in handy, too.”
